Use GI Bill benefits while working in a VA-approved apprenticeship or on-the-job training program in trades like plumbing, electrical, or law enforcement. Pays a monthly amount for living expenses on top of your wages, plus a books-and-supplies stipend under the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

Free Personalized Career Planning and Guidance: career counseling, educational planning, academic support, and resume help for veterans, service members, and eligible dependents. Open to anyone eligible for a VA education benefit and to those within roughly a year of separation.
Certification test fee payback
The VA reimburses up to $2,000 per test for licensing and certification exams required for a job, such as CDL, journeyman, and IT certifications, using part of your GI Bill entitlement. Approved prep courses can also be covered under the Post-9/11 GI Bill and DEA.
