Navy Lt. Amanda Lee of Mounds View, Minnesota, will be the Blue Angels' first female F/A-18 demonstration pilot, one of six officers chosen for the 2023 season after the Pensacola Beach Air Show in July. Lee, of Strike Fighter Squadron 106, also flew in the first all-female flyover, in 2019, at the funeral of retired Capt. Rosemary Mariner, the first woman to lead a Navy aviation squadron. The six report in September and train for five months in Pensacola and El Centro, California, after the 2022 season.

Every Third Saturday Golf Event In Brooklyn Park, MN
The LockLeed team was once again blessed to support Every Third Saturday’s (ETS) annual golf tournament that takes place to support the Veteran community. We look forward to this event annually, but this year was extra special given the progress that has been made in achieving their goals utilizing funds from last years tournament.
August 4th, 2021, a LockLeed associate had the opportunity to interview Tom McKenna (co-founder of ETS) regarding what the proceeds of that years golf tournament would be contributed to. Tom stated that the funds raised were going towards a new Veteran center, which at this point the property had only been demolished. Today, a building stands that is designated to Veterans and their families that is inclusive of a coffee shop (Rick’s coffee bar; named in commemoration of a veteran who fell victim to post-traumatic stress disorder), a patio, and a fitness center that is strictly only accessible to Veterans. This building is monumental in the Veteran community as it is designated to be a safe place for Veterans that have dealt/are dealing with PTSD and/or homelessness. The funds that were raised this year will continue to be attributed to the new Veteran center as well as helping veterans get the resources that they need which include providing clothing and supplies, access to ETS’ Pop-smoke mission (providing resources to veterans and their families), and the Warrior’s Path Program designed as a 5 week course that support’s Veterans designing and pursuing a better future.
