Changes on the way

  • Takes effect January 1, 2027: For tax years beginning January 1, 2027, the disabled-veteran primary-residence exemption expands to total disability based on individual unemployability. The amended law also limits the household income test to the general widow, widower, and total-disability category, removing it from the veteran categories. Survivor eligibility and exemption transfers also change; those details require separate implementation review.
