Nystrom, Employer of the Year
A look back at LockLeed International’s 2020 Employer of the Year award, presented to the Minneapolis commercial building products manufacturer in early 2021 for its efforts in hiring military talent.
Building products since 1948
Nystrom, Inc. is a commercial building products manufacturer based in Minneapolis, founded in 1948. When LockLeed presented the award in early 2021, CEO Sue W. Thomas led 190 manufacturing and business support employees.
At the time, the company held to five core values: profitable growth, lead by example, customer first, raise the bar, and balance, backed by recruiting dependable, conscientious, distinguished employees.

Honored for hiring military talent
LockLeed International presented Nystrom with its 2020 Employer of the Year award for the company’s efforts in hiring military talent. The trophy, a bronze eagle over a painted American flag with an etched glass plaque, was presented at Nystrom in early 2021.
Matt Benson, Chief Operating Officer; Susan Aaker, Senior Human Resources Director; and Lindsey Jankowski, HR Generalist, accepted the award for Nystrom.
“It’s a privilege to work with a military organization like LockLeed, and we are honored to be presented this award.”
