Buyer (DPM)
The Purchasing Agent position is responsible for buying required materials, services, supplies, and raw stock.
This is accomplished through the following essential functions:
• Evaluate price, quality of material, quality of customer service and lead time to determine the best buying option.
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships and contracts.
• Deal directly with vendors on any quality issues, late deliveries, or improvements.
• Responsible for researching new vendors.
• Responsible for methods of communication and delivery of purchase requests.
• Maintain and update master files assigned in the operating system.
• Follow both verbal instructions and internal procedures.
• Maintain the highest standards specifically applied by our company for aesthetic values on both purchased parts and the internal environment.
• Maintain constant communication with supervisor about job progress.
• Clean and maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
• Successfully complete a criminal background check.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Flexibility to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills.
Work Experience & Knowledge Requirements:
• Previous Purchasing role in related industry.
• Knowledge of supply chain in related industry.
• Knowledge of quoting process for services in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of freight and parcel shipment.
• Knowledge of Material Resource Planning systems.
• Knowledge of JobBoss operating system is a plus.
• Knowledge of vendor score cards is a plus.
• Knowledge of machine tooling is a plus.
• Experience and proficiency with MS Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Education Requirements:
• Associates degree in related discipline, strongly preferred.
Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
