Application Engineer
Position: Service Application Engineer
Department: Service Commercial
Primary Objective of Position:
The Service Application Engineer provides daily assistance and technical support for Electric Machinery’s large industrial motor, generator, and turbine customers worldwide. This role is responsible for prospecting new service business, quoting various services to customers, and developing sales proposals in coordination with the factories and partners delivering the best customer experience.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Reviews customer inquiries; facilitates disseminating information to required parties of Field & Service Engineering, Outside Sales, and Project Management.
- Confirms project requirements; through written and verbal communication with customer and supporting departments.
- Promotes collaboration and success; liaison between Inside and Outside Sales.
- Reviews requests for proposals (RFP’s), customer specifications, and other requirements to successfully bid projects.
- Requests quotes from factories and partners, and creates quotes for customers.
- Coordinates proposal development with Service Engineering, Field Service, and Outside Sales teams.
- Collaboratively works with Outside Sales and Project Management to ensure successful project handoff.
- Enters customers orders into EM’s Service quote database for project execution.
- Maintains and develops Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and quote databases.
- Ensures Electric Machinery’s commercial and contractual position is not compromised.
- Works on various projects as directed by the Service Commercial Team Leader and Service Manager.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Industrial technology or related field.
- 2+ years of general industrial inside sales experience preferred.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency to affect timely response and resolution to customer requests.
- Oral and written communication skills, with exceptional interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to deal effectively with difficult customers.
- Excellent time management; proven ability to independently prioritize workload and organize work activities in order to meet business needs and resolution to customer requests.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines, and multi-task on a consistent basis.
- Strong capability for social interface with internal and external customers as required, achieving customer satisfaction excellence.
- Demonstrated Computer knowledge of current operating systems and software common to business applications including; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of SAP Proficiency preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities. This requires climbing stairs and moving over, around, and about shop machinery.
- Have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds unassisted.
- Physical ability to travel via public, commercial or personal transportation.
- Must be able to legally drive a vehicle in the US.
- Must be able to travel internationally.
Salary:
60,000-70,000
