Master Production Scheduler

Bloomington, MinnesotaDirect Hire

Job Summary: 

Coordinates and schedules production workload in a cost effective and efficient manner to achieve departmental and business goals.   Performance is measured by the ability to meet On-Time delivery to the customer.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedules jobs and updates production schedules daily for Dalsin’s Bloomington and Lakeville.
  • Facilities based on customer delivery dates, material/component availability, vendor lead times and known departmental capacities.
  • Understand the capabilities of each of the machines and work centers.  Utilizes Thrive capacity levels and Epicor capacities as inputs for creating an accurate, executable schedule.
  • Lead daily production meeting highlighting special orders, departmental late orders, and inventory shortages.  Prompt for and develop recovery plans which ensure customer expectations are met.  Adjust schedules based on information received including material availability, rework issues, equipment maintenance and requests for expedites.  
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Operations and Director of Sales to determine priorities of customer orders when capacities are exceeded and decisions regarding service schedules need to be made.
  • Review customer open order report and react accordingly.  Review and monitor MRP and Make to Stock jobs.  Adjust schedule based on MRP driven suggestions, inventory levels and related information to ensure scheduling integrity. 
  • Actively reviews usage and analyzes trends of stock products including economic order quantities and min/max levels for manufactured products.  Recommends and adjusts system based on historical and forward-looking information from Account Management.
  • Proactively track jobs and monitor dashboards to identify issues putting delivery in jeopardy.  Bring up issues at daily production meetings so appropriate action can be taken by production, account management, procurement and shipping.   Issues may include wanding/WIP issues, shipping dashboard/subcontract schedules, raw material availability and subcontract timelines and receipts.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels within the organization to achieve company objectives.
  • Follow-up with Account Managers when previously agreed upon schedules cannot be met.  Develop plan to satisfy customer needs.
  • Develop recovery plans for jobs that are late to the schedule to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for Leading and Managing Direct reports on the planning/scheduling Team 

 

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

 

Education and Experience: Two-year college or university program certificate in business, and/or four years related experience and/or training.

Must have 3-5+ Years of Epicor Experience in a Planning, Scheduling and/or Manufacturing Capacity. 3-5+ Years Forecasting Experience.

Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.  Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Computer literate with ability to use document, spreadsheet, and other applications currently used.
