Injection Molding Technician

Job Description
As a plastics Injection Molding Technician, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, overseeing the production of high-quality plastic components. Reporting to your Production Manager, your role will leverage your mechanical knowledge and expertise in plastics injection molding, along with skills in quality inspection and machining. You will ensure efficient operations while utilizing advanced tools such as micrometers and CNC machines. Your leadership will drive a culture of precision and excellence, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing team. Complying with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas is a must.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience with injection molding machine. 
  • General knowledge of materials and molding processes.
  • Experience using forklifts / cranes.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work 10 hour shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, must be fluent in English.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must have 1-3 years of injection molding set-up and processing experience.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Engineering resins such as Nylon, Acetal and Polycarbonate is a plus.
  • Familiarity of Van Dorn Demag and HAIDA molding machine and Robotic robots.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take the lead on necessary injection molding, processing, material handling, and processing.
  • Must have experience in the Injection Molding field.
  • Must be able to help and assist with mold changes.
  • Willingness to train candidates with similar factory experience or background.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Install and set-up Injection Molds for production and perform insert changes. Start up injection molding machines in a fast-paced custom injection molding facility in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist the shift supervisor in scheduling operators, operator training, and perform all supervisory functions in the absence of the shift supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust injection molding machine parameters to the maintain quality and maximum product output.
  • Utilize labeling machines, grinders, and box tapers, as well as forklift and crane.
  • Perform problem-solving of molding quality defects and correct them.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintain a safe work environment within molding department.
  • Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Assist in various maintenance functions including but not limited to preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all injection molding equipment.
