Yard Supervisor
70% - Yard Supervisor: This position is responsible for coordinating the everyday running of the working yard. The Yard supervisor directs the yard technicians in the day to day scheduled activities and projects. They assign task to yard technicians, field service technicians, drivers, and themselves to ensure that units are repaired, prepared, and delivered in a timely manner in accord with Satellite’s quality standards.
30% - Unit Repairs: This position is responsible for maintaining the fleet, monitoring units, and making repairs and modifications as needed. In addition to this, the Yard Supervisor inspects all units before and after they are rented to a vender’s location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Yard Supervisor:
- Manage the training of all yard personnel and drivers in Satellite’s safety policies and programs.
- Maintains, coordinates, and monitors fleet schedule and repair.
- Coordinates schedules and assigns tasks to yard personnel for cleaning, repair, delivery, maintenance, and other necessary projects and task
- Orders parts and supplies to ensure the necessary parts are on hand
- Manages inventory per company standards
- Ensures standards for cleaning, repair, and refurbishment of each unit to follow company policy.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster, aid, and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
- Maximizes employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Preparing units for rental in a timely manner according to Satellite quality standards
- Making repairs and modifications to units as required
- Maintaining proper storage of units
- Inspects all units, both incoming and outgoing
- Performs a physical write up of the unit in detail
- Takes necessary photographs of unit as required
- Interface with customers at job sites
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Under direction from the Branch Manager and/or Operations Manager, this position coordinates and leads yard personnel in daily activities of the branch.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must have prior supervisory experience.
- This position requires a high school diploma and 4+ years of related experience in areas such as construction work, commercial cleaning, maintenance, etc. or equivalent combination of work and educational experience.
- Experience directing a team and directing work from a plan.
- Technical Capacity
- Shown ability to collaborate with other team members to accomplish tasks.
- Thoroughness and detail oriented.
- Team leadership
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong Interpersonal communications skills
- Schedule flexibility to respond to emergency situations
- Current driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles.
- Intermediate level construction experience required.
- Light carpentry and electrical experience.
- Position requires a high degree of concentration to manage frequent interruptions while meeting strict deadlines.
- Wears personnel protective equipment as required
- Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous outside and indoor duties including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity, etc.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion and grip strength
- Ability to work in all climate conditions.
- Ability to be exposed to loud noise levels.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to work in an environment containing dirt, grease, and dust.
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment.
- Ability to hold air impact tools up to 30lb.

Compensation:
The pay range listed is the base pay range that Satellite Shelters, inc/Satellite Industries, Inc. reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
