Maintenance Electrician
The Maintenance Electrician’s primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently ensure all electrical aspects associated with production are operational. The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, monitoring, and maintaining all electrical components, sensing and monitoring equipment, control centers and site warning systems.
This position requires consistent outside work, exposure to the elements, and schedule flexibility. Regular hours for this position can vary between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and will require some overtime and weekend work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
- Adhere to company safety policies, safety regulations, and watch out for the safety of others.
- Understand and follow operating procedures.
- Perform work safely and productively with others.
- Recognize and be aware of hazards.
Maintenance
- Ensure all electrical components of plant operating equipment are installed, maintained, and repaired so all production equipment runs as required.
- Be a problem solver by diagnosing and resolving all electrical and technical issues with production equipment, mobile equipment and pertinent office equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the life of production equipment, electrical components and monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team, production team, external contractors, and supervisors to ensure efficient operations while maximizing up time.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at times.
- Assist with other general duties within the facility (general maintenance).
- Operate mobile equipment safely including truck, frontend loader and locomotive.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the facility (which is not easily accessible by public transportation)
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors and colleagues, and ability to read and understand procedures and policies
- Basic math skills
- Computer skills for light data entry
- Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as necessary
- Candidates are required to submit to and receive satisfactory results from all pre-employment criminal background and employment verification checks
- Preferred
- Maintenance Electrician license, Class A Journeyworker Electrician license, or military equivalent required
- Automation experience is a plus
- Able to repetitively climb up and down ladders safely, walk up and down steps, and work at heights and within confined spaces
- Ability to work outside, including in inclement weather
- Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds
